ACT is France's name for its next generation multi-role tactical combat aircraft. Intended to replace the Sepecat Jaguar and Mirage IIIE, the design will be based on the Rafale A technology demonstrator built by Dassault-Breguet. Production of the ACT is scheduled to begin in the mid-1990s, with the plane reaching initial operating capability in 1996.
