A missile guided by radar, radio, or other electronic beam. The missile follows the conical-scan beam of the illuminating radar, correcting its flight to remain on the beam's axis.

A Semi-Active Radar (SAR) homing missile also requires beam illumination of the target but can follow an independent flight path.
